Bret A. Hughes P.Eng

Vice President, Engineering

Bret was appointed Vice President, Engineering in January 2020. He has been with Mancal Energy since September 2002, holding progressively senior roles including Vice President, Production; Operations Manager; and Manager of Exploitation. Bret brings over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Prior to joining Mancal, Bret held engineering and leadership positions at Anadarko Canada Corporation, Berkley Petroleum Corporation and Ocelot Energy Inc., where he gained extensive domestic and international field experience—ranging from onshore oil operations in Canada to offshore gas developments in Africa.

Bret holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a professional member of APEGA (The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta).
